End of Summer 10X10

A few months ago, in lieu of a spring capsule wardrobe, I thought it would be fun to switch it up a bit and try out this 10X10 challenge. I'm a huge huge fan of Lee Vosburgh from Style Bee, and when I saw this post, which is part of her ongoing series that explores capsule wardrobes, ethical fashion, etc., I wanted to try the challenge as well. It's a simple idea: pick 10 items from your closet and style them into 10 looks. It's almost like a mini-capsule wardrobe, and I think it forces you to get super creative with how you put your outfits together.

I shared some of my outfits from the Spring 10X10 on Instagram, tagged with #STYLEBEE10X10, but I never got around to posting it here. So I decided to give it another go for an end-of-summer 10X10. Today I'll share which items I picked along with the first four outfits. The other 6 outfits and a recap will come next week!

To get the most variety, I chose to include 2 pairs of shoes, 3 pairs of pants, 2 tops, 2 sweaters, and 1 dress. I picked mostly neutral colors because a. that's mainly what I wear now, and b. that way I can mix and match the different pieces with ease.

2 Pairs of Shoes | Acne Studios 'Kobe' Sneakers (in black here), Birkenstock Monterey Sandals

3 Pairs of Pants | Elizabeth Suzann Florence Pants, Acne Studios Skin 5 Jeans, Levi's 513 Jeans

2 Tops | J Crew Striped Top (similar), Madewell Flannel Shirt (similar)

2 Sweaters | Uniqlo Cashmere V-Neck, Uniqlo Cropped Sweater

1 Dress | Old Black Dress (similar)

The only blank-ish wall in or around my house is the shingled side of our garage, so I took all my outfit shots with that as the background. I really need an 'instagram husband' to drive around with me and take my photos... I'm mostly joking... Anyway, here are the first four outfits!

So far, I'm quite pleased with how my outfits have turned out! The only additions here are my sunglasses - the pink ones are Cรฉline and the tortoiseshell ones are Karen Walker. Let me know in the comments what you think, or share your own 10X10 stories!
